This fine 1:8 scale model of the F40 Competizione has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of Ferrari regarding original finishes, materials, archive imagery and drawings. The use of supremely accurate digital scanning of the original car has allowed us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
At Amalgam Collection we create models at a range of scales. For those of you unfamiliar with the way the system works, these scales represent the ratio between the size of a model and its full size counterpart. Here are the scales we make with the average lengths of the model alongside. Put simply, the bigger the number to the right of the colon, the smaller the model car:

The F40 is by far the most legendary and the most radical of Ferraris. This is the latest creation of the "Commendatore Enzo Ferrari". From the outset, the F40 was like no other. Its style is bestial and its performances are astounding. In 1987 it was the fastest and most expensive car in the world! Initially planned to be manufactured to the tune of 400 units, the F40 was finally produced more than 1,000 times due to high demand. Even so, nowadays, every F40 is a snap and easily sells for 1,000,000 Euros! 35 years later, this 4-wheeled monster is still as an absolute hit. Here, the F40 is offered to you in 1 / 8th scale. The F40 is by far the most legendary and the most radical of Ferraris. This is the latest creation of the "Commendatore Enzo Ferrari". For sale is a very special Pocher model of the Ferrari F40 with an outstanding upgrade from Autograph on a scale of 1: 8! When this model has been completed, it will be far more than just an eye catcher!
I am leaving this project because in the past few years, as in the near future, I will neither have the time nor the premises to complete it. The model was carefully stored for many years and is now offered for sale. For a connoisseur and handicraft enthusiast, this is certainly a very interesting project, which has already been completed up to 90%! Only the construction stages are missing: front hood, rims, emblems, windshield wipers, engine linkage and on-board tools.
The components of these construction phases are of course all available and part of the model. As well as the Pocher and complete autograph instructions, exploded drawings of the workshop instructions, remaining photo-etched and plastic parts. Remaining parts and range of additional screws. The kit was not only completed with the greatest care, but also with great attention to detail. The pictures provided should confirm this impressively. The Pocher model was completely stripped and deburred in advance. After that, ALL metal parts were brought to the car painter and completely multi-layered in the original Ferrari Rosso Corsa.
We would like to apologise for any confusion caused by an inaccurate image printed in issue 44. The steering system on the model was altered to make performance more reliable, and as a result, some of the parts shown in the image are no longer being manufactured. The image below outlines the new steering system, which will be printed in full, in issue 48.
A very rare 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari F40, as produced during 1987-92. What makes this particular Pocher model all the more rare is that it is in black rather than red, with gold Speedline wheels. It has been photographed next to a 1:18 scale model to demonstrate the size, and the details on this Pocher model are superb. The doors, bonnet and rear clam all open to reveal scale sized engine, seats, steering wheel and even gauges! The model is complete with a scale sized key, and is in near perfect condition. A great display piece for the office of any Ferrari enthusiast or indeed F40 owner!

A Pocher 1:8 Scale model of a Ferrari F40, by Rivarossi, die-cast model finished in Rosso Corsa, with opening bonnet, door and boot revealing engine detail, mounted on a gravel display base with plaque within a glazed display case.
The 1/8 scale model car of the F40 LM is based on the Pocher model car kit, where most of frame was reinforced in brass or rebuild completely. The front of the model was reinforced with solid aluminum plates. Most of the body parts were reshaped to become full LM specifications. All of this was scratch build with no transkit ever used. 2ff7e9595c
